These terms govern your membership of the Registered African Migrants Association (RAMA). Please read them carefully before joining.
The Registered African Migrants Association ("RAMA") is an independent, member-driven Non-Profit Company registered in South Africa. RAMA exists to protect, advocate for, represent and economically empower documented African migrants living in South Africa.
RAMA is governed by its Memorandum of Incorporation and approved governance rules, and operates under the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Companies Act 71 of 2008 and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Membership is open to African migrants holding recognised legal documentation or status under South African immigration and refugee law, including:
RAMA verifies membership status at sign-up and periodically thereafter. Providing false or misleading information may result in suspension or termination of membership without refund.
Membership is subscription-based. Current tiers and fees are:
Fees are reviewed annually and may be adjusted with 30 days' notice to members.
Membership provides access to RAMA's programmes and services, which may include:
Important: Certain services are planned or progressively introduced and are subject to eligibility criteria, available resources, and RAMA's operational capacity. The RAMA membership card is proof of RAMA membership only — it is not a government identity or immigration document.
RAMA provides legal information, case intake and referral to approved independent legal practitioners. RAMA is not a law firm and does not itself provide legal representation.
By joining RAMA, you agree to:
Subscriptions are payable monthly or annually in advance. Annual payments include a discount equivalent to two months free.
Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. In general, joining fees are non-refundable, and subscription refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis for unused periods where a member cancels.
RAMA processes personal information in accordance with POPIA. Please review our POPIA Privacy Notice for full details on what we collect, why, how we use and store it, and your rights.
RAMA may suspend or terminate membership where a member:
Members may cancel their membership at any time by written notice to membership@rama-global.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
RAMA endeavours to provide services with reasonable care and skill. However, to the extent permitted by law, RAMA is not liable for:
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under South African law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes should first be raised through RAMA's member-grievance channels. Unresolved disputes may be referred to mediation or the courts of South Africa.
